It’s been a very long time since I posted something new here, for which I can only apologise. Shortly after starting this project, I changed careers and it left me with very little time to continue working on my ideas. I’ve since left that job and have been concentrating on another website that I co-run, called IndieGuild.net.
I don’t want to let this project die as there’s a wealth of great music just waiting to be shared! So I am currently working out a way to somehow merge SonicPulse with IndieGuild, which will ultimately make it a lot easier to keep both projects going.
I’ll post an update here again soon with details of the move, once it’s all been worked out.

I was lucky enough to be sent a promo copy of the excellent “The True Harvest“, by Hands Upon Black Earth. The True Harvest is an atmospheric, melodic audio journey filled with moments of absolute bliss, right from the first track.
The album kicks off with the beautifully dreamy “Inward”, an Ambient excursion that paints a detailed landscape in your mind and sets the rest of the album up nicely. Next up is the incredible “For You”, one of my two favourite tracks on this release. More upbeat but keeping the same vibe going, the track sends shivers down my spine and make my hairs stand on end. We slow things down again now and add an air of anticipation as “Under Ocean” graces us with it’s presence. Lovely chilled bassline, hints of swirling guitars circling above and distant percussive melodies tease our ears with promise of what’s yet to come. Time to take a deep “Breath” and enjoy the next, more rhythmic and possibly darkest track now. Keeping the atmospheric theme going, but adding an undertone of unrest and a lovely psy-feel, Breath will have you nodding your head in time with the music with your eyes closed. “The Echo” is the most Ambient track on the album, being guided along by the minimal rhythm, the track takes us through a misty landscape filled with intrigue. “In Secret”, the penultimate track on the release, is another psy treat, featuring amazing guitar lines and a 4/4 rhythm, but still very much in keeping with the other tracks and it prepares us for the final jewel in the crown which is the stunning “Wilderness”, my other favourite track on this outstanding album. Everything about this track is just right, a fantastic bassline that just melts in your ears, awesome atmospheric guitars, a lovely chilled rhythm, it’s a real sonic delight.
I can’t recommend this album higher, you need to have it in your collection and enjoy it over and over again.
